Message: Does anybody know what the torque is on the rear leaf u bolts? I got a 2001 4x4 and am thinking of taking out the smallest leaf to bring the back level with the front. Any info would be appreciated.

Message: I wouldn't do that unless you know HOW it will affect the handling.
A better option would be adjust the front torsion bars back to the stock height. All it is is turning a bolt.

Message: BluDak01, the leaf spring U bolts are 120 ft. lbs. and the leaf spring eye bolts are 110 ft. lbs. Hope ya got a long torque wrench or some guns for this one. Under my dropped truck it was a pain for me. Be sure you torque these while the tires are on the ground and all weight is on it. Just snug them up a lil before you drop it, but do not torque it in the air.

Message: Thanks for the info. As far as the handling does do you think it would affect it in a good or bad way?

Message: Can't carry as much weight in the bed. Should drop you a tad. It wouldn't be as stiff back there, but nothing major.
