Message: I have very loose steering in my 1992 dodge dakota 4wd. it has about 1/2 inch play between the tie rod and steering gear linkage. Can some one tell me if the entire steering gear needs to be replaced or can it be repaired in a manner similar to ball joints? I have to admit steering components are not at all my strong point. thanks for your help.
