Message: It's always been my understanding that as long as the oil is changed as per schedule using an approved oil along with an approved filter, you can have it done anywhere you want.
Just be sure to have all your receipts.
If Daimler/Chrysler isn't supplying you with the oil and filters along with labour they can't force you to have it done by them.

Message: Magnuson Moss Act only applies in America. You will have to serch through your countrys amendments to find out if something similar exsists. Didn't they teach everbody this stuff in H.S. civics class?????

Message:
Always make sure that you take an oil sample while the engine is at operating temperature (or close to it) any time that you have engine problems or complete engine failure.
Oil analysis is a "tool" that can be used to determine what exactly went wrong in an engine and whether the failure was caused by the oil or a defect in the engine itself.
