 Subject: 99 Dakota Sport Fog/Headlight Switch

THe foglights in my 99 Dakota Sport arent working and Ive narrowed it down to be the switch. i have heard alot of others have problems with this. Does anyone know a fix for it, or is the only fix to buy the new switch? If so, where can I buy it online?

Here's a good place to buy on-line I think their like 15-16 bucks from there or just go to the stealership and pick up one for 21. Hope this helps.

Had the same problem, cheaper to just go get one at the dealership. I paid $26 I think.

The fix is easy enough to do yourself.
Pull out the whole switch assembly.
Remove the cover carefully because a little copper piece is gonna fall out. That is the fog-light contact. Take that piece and supa-glue it to the back of the switch (white plastic rod that activates the foglights). Let glue dry and you are all set. I did this back in 03/02 and I haven't had a problem .

well my foglights stopped working a while back, and i narrowed it down to the switch also. about a week ago my headlights stopped working. then the other night the switch totally screwed up, and i couldnt turn on my flood lights even (thus not letting me use my high beams)...
i think the part cost 30 bucks at the dealership, i just let them fix it, im under warantee and used this oppurtunity to get other things fixed while paying my deductable ;)
