Subject: Factory CD Headunit and hitch WANTED IP: Logged
Message: My brother just bought a used 2000 Durango and the only two things he regrets is that it does not have a cd player (hes not much for aftermarket) and the hitch. Im in Chicago and can pick up the hitch and/or radio locally.

Message: From the little research Ive done it seems that not only is the factory stereo in a 2000 FLAT (versus round face and curved out) but that it has a mounting tab in the center along the top edge.
Can someone please verify if this is indeed the case or if I am mistaken. THANKS!

Message: If he wants a hitch, and plans to tow anything that is really towing any distance, then he should have gotten the Trailer Towing Package, that comes with the HD engine Service Group. I.E., if it's an auto, it'll need a tranny cooler, etc.
shoulda, coulda, woulda

Message: Texas Todd,
So in other words: YOU have neither of the items that I want to buy and have nothing better to do than make dumb comments. If you read the original post I clearly stated he bought it "USED," and got a good deal on it- its not like he could add any options. And just for your information he isnt looking to tow a whole lot with it- plans on buying a small fishing boat, thats it........hold on.......OK sorry, had a phone call It was the Peanut Gallery- they said that your welcome to come back now! LOL

Message: Rich,
oh, sorry. Got to go back to eating my peanuts now.
I still wasn't clear if you wanted an overhead console, or a CD player? Or do they come mounted in the overhead console?-never seen one-doesn't mean they don't though. By the way, I prefer the unsalted ones.
If he's not towing anything that heavy, then whats wrong with the hole in the bumper. I guess maybe the Durangos' don't come with that.
oh wait, another urge for peanuts. Actually I had some Pad Thai noodles last night, with the peanut sauce, it was good, too.
