Looks like it'll give the Ram Srt-10 a little bit of competition.

I think it looks pretty sweet. I'm still a Mopar fan (I'd take the Ram Srt-10), but hey, you can't argue that this thing will be fffffaaaaaaaaasssssssssttttttt.

I've seen concepts of it over a year ago and it still looks damn good. Looks like what Audi would do with a truck.

Yeah Ford's answer to everything is a freakin blower. Imagine if someone strapped a blower to the SRT-10...then its over!
Looks like the SRT-10 still beats it in the 0-60!
I do like their new concept for the Lightning tho, how you can punch it when the green light comes on and you have an extra 50 ponies for 35 seconds then regenerates. Thats pretty sweet.

The extra Hp thing is basically a liquid/air intercooler... running a refrigerated liquid through it....
I've seen some aftermarket "one shot" intercoolers that run compressed CO2 or NO2 gas through them that cool the intake charge pretty well for a short amount of time... apparently, Ford picked up on this "trick" setup...

yeah but liquid to air sucks, especially if you are racing all night or trying to spend a day at the track, my freinds rx-7 is turbo'ed w/ l-a intercooler and he says it is much slower after it is warm. although you can get your air much colder initially.

You'll never see it in production! Look guys, all concepts are exactly what they say..."Concept". Sure Ford will come up with a truck that resembles this, but only for show. Todays buyers couldn't handle that kind of performance on the street, or the price tag. Buy a Mclaren Type I, then you can enjoy the ride. I'll stick with my 4.7 just for the H*** of it, and on the US Hiways be just fine, lookin' in the mirror at most trucks.

Trust me if Dodge does produce the SRT-10 which looks more than likely that it is going to go into production...Ford won't think twice about producing that truck in order to keep compitition high. They may change some of the features that u see there but if the SRT-10 comes out...look for the Lightning to be right on its tail.

It's still a concept. That engine looks a little funny too. Where are all the accessories? Kinda of nice without any wiring harnesses. They still can't touch the Dodge V10 motorcycle concept that has 500hp and goes 400mph.

Very nice concept. I think i may consider one in the future. As i have tried my bit with dodge then bought a mustang and am well please with their automobile so far.
Someone made the comment that ford has to supercharge everything? They do it and build the engine for plenty of potential. If you supercharged the viper v10 it will only handle about 6 psi before the rods snap on you. The 5.4L setup will handle 14+psi boost with plenty of room for goodies to be added. Also, the viper mods will cost 2-3 times what a regular ford 5.4L setup will cost. I always thought dodge should have supercharge the hemi with Kenne Bell it would have been a bigger success. I like both trucks but i would pick the lightning over the srt-10 for the reasons above.

I agree with you fastermopars, I think the new Lightning is gonna whip the SRT-10 in looks, performance and price by about 10 grand. I just think the next Ligtning looks mean, while the SRT-10 is cartoon like and ricer looking. I am waiting on trading my 01 R/T for either that Lightning or the new Mustang. I was waiting for the new Dak but if it looks like the new Durango forget it, Hemi or not, that thing id a$$ ugly!

First off. Dodge isn't really Dodge. Didn't Mercedes Benz, buy them or something. At least Ford is owned by Ford. If Dodge is so good, why did they almost go bankrupt in the past. The F series outsells Chevy, and Dodge trucks combined. So I guess Ford must be doing something right. Oh yeah the SRT-10 motor is an 8.0 L and it only makes 500 horsepower. Damn that's pretty pathetic. It should at least be making a hundred horsepower per liter. Any ass can just put a bigger motor in a truck and make it fast. That's kind of hillbilly if you ask me. The ford on the other hand makes over 500 horsepower from a 5.4 L. The lightning is also going to be like 20,000 dollars cheaper than the SRT-10. Oh well the new Ford GT-40 is going to wipe the floor with the Viper anyways.
