Message: I've got a '02 QuadCab in the Patriot Blue w/ the Silver two-tone on the bottem. I think it's a sweet combination. But as far as ease of keeping clean, I doubt there's much difference. I know that mine is really showing pollen right now. But if you go Black or Pat. Blue, you won't be going wrong either way. Looking at the pics. on this site, there really isn't a bad color on the Dak's.

Message: Today, I went to a shopping center and saw another two Dakotas--green and tan. Now, I know it's not relevant to mention the two other colors when we're talking about Patriot Blue and Black, but I finally realized this: blacks are shinier because they provide the most contrast against the lighter colors of the reflection. i.e. white clouds in the sky, etc.
Of course, this is not to say that Patriot Blue is bad... I once considered the color. Both the Patriot Blue and Black are hard to find on another dakota where I live...

Message: I think the graphite grey is sweet. But if anyone could see the oddball color my GenII dak is, they would be awed it's just sweet. People have told me that my truck is black, green and blue, all depending on the light. I've got the best of all worlds. :)

Damn a 68 Chevelle w/454 ... can't remember if I have seen it, but I probably have heard it. I have been trying to get my hands on a 70 Chevelle for the longest time, my (ex) father-in-law builds street rods ... he currently has a red 48 Chev coupe.
Do you ever do the Thurs. night, I still call it the roundhouse even though it has been a while since it was there.

Message: xplikt, I think the base is green with some metal flake in it but the truck was wrecked before I got it and the hood was taken off of another truck. I haven't found a paint code for it yet. Is it anywhere on the truck besides the hood?

Keep your eyes peeled for for-sale sign on any Chevelle/Malibu/Nova in the area. Don't get me wrong, I love my Dak ... but I need some serious muscle power for resurfacing the roads with rubber.
I am sure I will see you around this summer, you will know my Dak when you see the license plate (and hear the exhaust) ;-).

do you have the 4.7L? What exhaust did you go? I was thinking of the Gibson dual side outlet. Have you done anything to open up the air intake? I was contemplating the homemade K&N kit....
What other mods have you done to your Dak?

I've got the 4.7l and have done the following:
Ravin Z-33 single in/out, didn't have the money for the custom pipe work for duals and it was about a 45min job.
Drop-in K&N, which will be replaced in the next few days when my 360 intakez is delivered. You are welcome to have the K&N.
TPS adjustment, was .59VDC stock and now running at .752VDC. If you haven't done this yet let me know, it's real easy!
ARE LS-II Tunneau Cover, not really a mod ... but sure looks nice.
Ummmm, this might start to get flames soon ... wait, I know! My Tunneau was painted Patriot Blue just like my truck! Phew, close call.

Message: Did you notice a lot of difference with the K&N? Where have you been buying most of your performance parts from? I hate to go to an American company and pay duty, plus with US exchange right now....GEEZ!!
I see that SpeedTweaks has 'come to Canada', so I might have to try them out.
Do you ever cruise into Leamington? I know its kind of lame but why spend all that gas to cruise Ouellette (I can say it...but can't spell it)...when you can get the same kind of action on Erie St....and theres bar at one end...so you can just hang and show off your ride....

The K&N made marginal improvements, it improved mileage at least that much I noticed. I have been buying the performance stuff from the states, but I also work for a U.S. company and I can have the stuff shipped there. The tunneau and K&N I purchased in Windsor at Vehicle Ventures ... the owner lives next door so he cut me a pretty decent deal.
Never tried cruising Leamington, just moved to Kingsville from Lasalle about 4 months ago ... and only had my Dak for 2 months. Sounds like a trip out is in order.

Well, of course. Black shows everything. Hence, the more shine... just as I have been saying along.

For parts for the Chevelle I usually talk to Chuck Fram at Performance Parts Plus on Tecumseh road... www.racewindsor.com he's got a message board there for local 'hot rodders'....I won't be in Leamington this week...but hopefully next week, I'll be out in my Chevelle...and then...Watch out Mustangs!!!...and everything else!...ahaha
