TO ALL DEKOTA OWNERS I had that same

trouble with my 93 dekota a loud

thump when pulling out [found my

problem it was the bed flexing]

repaired by loosening the box

bolts & put rubber shims between

box and frame and retightened bolts.

GOOD LUCK
HOPE THIS HELPS

I'm sure the dealer would be willing to fix your pinion shaft.
Now unless your truck is still under it's 70,000 mile powertrain warrenty they will not do it for free, and it's gonna cost you.

The pinion shaft is pretty strong, the usual way they get broken is someone trying to do burnouts.
I'm not saying this is what you did, but it's a strange thing for them to just break.

How many miles on the truck?
Is it still under warrenty?
