Subject: Airbag light on IP: Logged
Message: Hey all, yesterday when I started my truck my airbag light came on and it's still on today. Just trying to get an idea of what it could be. I've checked the fuses for the abs and the two airbag fuses, all 3 are good. I pulled the dash off to make sure the switch for the pass airbag was still plugged in and it is. I turned off the switch to see if it even lights up that it's off and it doesn't. Could this mean the switch is bad or is there another issue I need to look at?
Thanks,
Marc

Message: Hello- I had the same problem it was the air bag clock spring under the steering wheel. IT was about $300. at autozone so I went to one of those u-pull salvage yards and it was $10. first you have to remove neg. wire from battery wait 2 min.THEN take the 2 screws out that hold the air bag to steering wheel. Then you have to pull the steering wheel of with a puller. Unhook the wires from the clock spring. Remove the plastic shroud from behind steering wheel (mine was 2 screws). Take the screws out holding the clock spring to colume and replace with the other one and put everything back together. When I hooked the battery back up and started it the light was out and never came back on. GOOD LUCK!!
