 Subject: transfer case shift

My 2001 4wd transfer case shifting abilities are erratic, especially after driving on the highway a few miles. The little light on the dashboard shift blinks a lot even in 2WD, and shifting is especially hard into or out of 4WD low.
My first visit to the shop got two fixes:
1) a short in the shift box was fixed.
2) a computer recall problem (that I had not known about) was dealt with.
Does anyone know whether there are common Dodge Dakota problems with the transfer case, the computer or with the little dashboard shift lever system?

I had my 01 brought in for the chip flash. Before that, I hadn't even tried 4Low, but since then I've been using it without any problems. There was one time when it was a little fussy going into 4Low, but 99.9% of the time it is fine.
