Subject: engine smokes IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 v6 3.9 magnum.If i let it idle for a few minutes it starts somking.A friend say's i need a valve job.Any suggestions? thank you.

Message: get it some Nicorette gum. That should help it stop smoking. But automotively speaking, oil getting past the rings can definitely get it to do it's impersonation of Ole' Smokie. May need a ring job

Message: Your friend may be right sort of. You either have bad valve seals or worn valve guides or both. If it's valve guides then by all means do the valves also. There rocking on there seats and if not included in the job will have a short time to live.
