 Subject: HELP! 2001 Quad Cab SLT Power Window Reg

HELP!! I have a 2001 SLT Quad cab. The driverside rear window regulator broke. The plastic clip that captures the power window cable from the motor snapped. I called dodge and they want $245 for the entire assembly!!! All I need is the regulator part... anyone know where I can get one... I've tried searching online and have not come up with anything...

I had the same problem in my 2001 Quad Cab.
I got a window regulator from NAPA, and installed it. So far, no problems with the replacement.

The frustating thing is that the motor was good, but a broken plastic piece on that connects the cable to the motor broke.
Fairly simple to install. If I remember right, 3 bolts on the motor, and 4 on the lift assembly.

I did this on my 2002 and it was fairly easy.
* Loosen door panel (4-5 phillips screws)
* Unplug electrical connections for door locks/windows
* Lift panel from door
* Unsnap push rod connections from door lock & handle
* Remove door panel
* Unbolt bottom of window lift track (2 screws)
* Lift window fully closed and support by pushing a screw driver through hole in door near top (under window)
* unbolt motor regulator (remove 1 screw, loosen other 2)
* Unbolt top of window lift track (2 screws)
* Slide 2 bolts holding regulator in place up and out
* Remove old regulator, motor and window lift track assembly
* Put new track, motor, and regulator in place
* Tighten regulator/motor and top of track
* Lower window and tighten bottom of track
* Reinstall door
* You're done
My window motor regulator has failed 3-4 times already. Luckily (?) the replacement that I bought from O'Reilly for $100 has a lifetime warranty. It takes me about 45 minutes for the whole process. I wrote this from memory so I may have missed a couple of minor points, but it is very easy and you shouldn't have any problems if you perform minor repairs.

Anyone know how to remove the window lift track if the window is stuck in the up position? Is there a way to force the window down so that I can get to the bolts?

Found a video from A1auto.com that will help everyone out. It
shows the front door regulator replacement, but you get what you
need for any door, I did mine in probably about 45 minute with no
hassles.

I ordered the part online for I think $75 with free 2 day shipping,
where the local stores wanted $118. Overall saved $125.00 since
the cheapest install I found was $80.

single one of the window regulators have broke! It's
insane...how does all four windows brake? Was there

2000 dodge dakota none of the windows will close and the power door locks will work went to work today everything stoped working all the fuses are good but the power locks work with the remoat need help

I have 3 in my 2001 Quad cab that all broke within a 2 month period and even at $60 each online, that still a chunk of $$. Its a shame someone here working in a machine shop hasn't come up with a small replacement part that we can place and screw in...HINT HINT HINT !!!!
