try rotating the tires front to back and see if the problem i still there. the tires could be out of round, a belt shifting or imporperly balanced.

i've seen tires supposedly balanced but still vibrate at certain speeds.

rare, but possible the tire isn't fully seated on the rim.

Ive always had frequent steering wheel vibrations between 50 and 65 mph on my 04 4x4 Quad. It has always turned out to be a wheel balance issue. For some reason with this truck it's been difficult to get the wheels properly balanced in a way that eliminates the vibrations and keeps it that way for awhile. It was this way with both the stock alloys and with my polished aluminum AR Bajas.

What I have found is, not all wheel balances are created equal and they may vary depending on the type of machine used in how much of the vibration they eliminate. When I got a balance at my dealer, it lessened the problem but didn't totally fix it. When I've had it done at Pep Boys, same thing, it fixed it a little bit better than the dealer did but not completely and it came back very fast. Other shops lessen it to varying degrees or else will make the vibration totally go away but not for very long. Every time I rotate tires and bring the ones that have been on the back axle for the last 5 thousand miles to the front, the problem starts all over.

Ive found that only Midas and Sears wheel balances will really fix the problem and keep it fixed for awhile. Sears has a tendency to put the weights on the outside of the rim which I don't like so much, but since it's one of the two places that does a good job I'm not inclined to make them do anything differently. Point is, some wheel balances work better than others. Do your research and keep trying until you find a place that can do it properly.

Try going to a shop that spin balaces the wheel on the vehicle.
Not a common practice any more, but this balaces the tire, wheel and rotor as a complete assembly.

Disadvantage: When you rotate the tires they must be rebalanced.

Or find a tire shop that has a road force balancer.
