Subject: This has me stumped IP: Logged
Message: OK got a 2002 5.9 CC dak 71k miles
This only happens when its very hot above 90 and in direct sunlight my instrument panal lights all up and gages go dead over console temp go blank and where milage should be displayed I get No Buss and the AC blows out hot air, After a few min driving getting some air flow the faults slowly go away. Not sure if the direct sunlight really has anything to with it but it seems like it does. Took to dealer and after a 70 dollar rapeing and we need 2 more Hrs to rape you and out the door I went with no answers not to sure I want to bother this is an intermittent problem. ANy help would be great.

Message: First, get inside the driver's side kick panel and check the connections to the electronics module (Central Timer Module) that lives there.
Well, that's where it lives on the 4.7L. No reason to think different for the 5.9L.
If you don't find anything amiss there, check instrument panel connectors. They've been known to work loose.
