Not saying all of u , i know the older daks have brake issues, i also know that alot of them are drivers, some are tire people not torquing wheels correct, i haven'r seen any othe 05 daks with this problem., but im sure it can be, and i also know that there are alot of dealer mechanics who don't know how to fix $hit!.
I hope u get them fixed

I have a 2005 with 6000 miles and no brake problems yet either. Sold a 1999 Dakota to get this and only brake problems with that was one rear wheel cylinder leaking first year and dealer replaced both under warranty.

Look, It very frustrating dealing with this and the people on this site ( and they are many ) that are dealing with this on a brand new truck feel my pain. When a user of this site states perhaps its a driver issue.. I am sorry but that to me is not called for..

FYI three different people from one dealership and two from another dealership drove mine and it shakes with them as well. They attempt to fix it and within a couple of days it's doing it again. I been told by an outside source it could be several different problems from the axle to the frame to cause the warping. I also have three small children that I will not take anywhere in the truck because it's not safe! One of the dealerships told me themselves that Dodge had issued a bulleton on the brake system in the 05 Dakota. In other words Dodge realizes there is a problem but there are p..... around about facing the fact that some (not all) of these trucks cannot be repaired. Two of the times mine was in the shop they gave me two other 05 Dakotas to drive I had none of the braking issues with them. I have owned an F150 with over 100,000 and a Chevy p/u with over 100,000 and three mustangs with each having over 100,000 none of them having any brake problems other than standard wear and tear. Glad the person who has such good luck has had it and I hope it doesn't run out. Mine was back in the shop within one week of signing the papers. This is my first and probably my last dodge pu of any kind.

Gina and everyone,

I recieved word on my truck that there is a Technical Service Bulletin by Chrysler (TSB #05-004-05) for the brake and axles problem. Try this with your dealrer and see if they can help. I assume they won't be able to do much if, as Gina, has mentioned, the frame is torque someone.

Stay Tuned....

I too had a 2000 Dodge Ram. Best truck and absolutely no problems! Sold it to my 19 year old son and he also has no problems. Got the 05 Dakota Quad for more room to carry around 2 granchildren in car seats. Been a pain since. The intermitten pulsation is going on. Better since I got new drums on the rear but been 2 see 2 dealers to do it. I'd love to go back to a ram quad but don't want the higher payment. I've also got a Ford and have driven Chevy's and older Dodges. I've had them all but NEVER this kind of problem! Hanging in for the recall. It will come .........

Hello everyone,

Well I have had the rear axles replaced, as of yesterday the problem is no even worse. It is so bad that it feels like the whole axles are going to fly off. I don’t think they can fix this truck. Has anyone else had similar problems since the axles have been replaced as per the TSB 05-004-05? Please let me know

Thanks for the e-mail and I hope that I may have helped. I hope that you will try Rob S note above for there is a financial responsibility if Dodge (Chrystler) continues to let an unsafe vehicle on the road after all of the complaints that they have received from you. You just have to get that message to them, and the agencies involved in a way that Rob S did to get a new truck as an option. It isn't easy but Rob S should be able to guide you through it so I hope that he will reply to your e-mail. Forgive me for replying to 05 Dakota but Dean seems to be a friend and I hope that he has found another in Rob S. Thank You. Ernie

I called the 800 # every single day JUST to complain about how unhappy I am with a brand new truck. Chrystler has spent over 15K in warentee services just to try to fix my truck and couldnt do it. I find there is no need to get loud. Have some paticents and 8 months later you to will have something else to drive. Its a long battle and I will help anyone anyway I can

Hi everyone,

Thought I would post an update on the bulletin. My truck went in again for the seventh time to fix the vibration problems. Well, you guess it, they could'nt fixed it. No one can. They have no idea what to do. Two dealers have look at it and nothing is solved.

Here is the list of repairs to solve the vibration since March 2005

1) Rear Drums (twice)
2) Front Rotors (Twice)
3) Rear diff
4) Rear axle shafts (left and right)
5) Rear tie rods
6) Front brake pads (twice)
7) Numerous wheel alignments (I think twice or three times)

What has this cost???
This is going back to the original dealer somehow..

Good luck everyone. These trucks are junk! actually worse than that!

The post has been silent for awhile are people still having problems with these trucks??

Hi Dean....

Still having problems. Taking my truck in again this weekend for another looksee but I know it won't get fixed. The weird thing.....some days it drives fine, other days it's the truck from hell. That's so frustrating and even more when it's fine for the dealers. Stay tuned.

Hi Chris,

I am keeping a log on when the problems are occurring. Try to write down when the truck is vibrating and take note of the outside air temperature and driving conditions (i.e. on hills, flat stretches). There is a correlation with these factors somehow. Still haven't figured it out. Mine occurs on braking down hills and when the temp outside is about 10 degress celcius or 50F... but will see what happens this winter in the Vancouver BC rain

super frustrating... I hate it!

I will stay tuned... touch base in a while.

You all must demand a new truck.. There is no other way. I was calling the 800 # every single day for 3 months. every day the dealer recieved an email from me. Every day I drove by the dealers lot with a big LEMON sing in the back. Thats the only way these guys are going to do something and stop jerking everyone around. I tell you all this.. I will NEVER Ever by another chrystler product as long as I live again. My RAM is working great BUT I just cannot deal with this company any more.. Looking forward to 5 years from now to trade this in for something else
Goodluck all
Rob
