When I go to crank my 92 dakota 6cyl., I get lights but the engine doesn't turn over. No clicking, or anything it just sits there. I talked to the person I bought it from and they said it might be a rotor in the dist. cap. Any other suggestions?

If it just sits there when you turn the key to start, it has nothing to do with the ignition system, ie the cap, rotor button, wires, coil, or plugs. Sounds like a dead battery to me. Have you tried to jump start it? If it still sits there dead, it's more than likely the starter.
