Subject: won't start IP: Logged
Message: When I go to crank my 92 dakota 6cyl., I get lights but the engine doesn't turn over. No clicking, or anything it just sits there. I talked to the person I bought it from and they said it might be a rotor in the dist. cap. Any other suggestions?

Message: If it just sits there when you turn the key to start, it has nothing to do with the ignition system, ie the cap, rotor button, wires, coil, or plugs. Sounds like a dead battery to me. Have you tried to jump start it? If it still sits there dead, it's more than likely the starter.
