Subject: rattle in front end IP: Logged
Message: i have a 2000 dodge dakota sport with the 4.7l ho and the truck has been wrecked but was fixed i have noticed when i creep over a hole or go down a bumpy road that there is a rattle on the passenger side and i can not figure out what it is i checked the ball joints ,shocks, cab mount bushing just about everything i could think of and i still cant figure out what it is does anyone have an idea of what this might be?

Message: check the front brake pad clips, they rust off and the pad rattles against the rotor. Go over a bump and put the brakes on, the rattle will probably disappear.

Message: Check out the emergency cable adjuster located on outside of frame just under the drivers door. Mine knocked occasionally for a year and drove me crazy. The rubber grommets on the cable had slipped back and the bracket was knocking on the frame.
