Subject: growling noine IP: Logged
Message: i have a 2000 dodge dakota with the 4.7l and i noticed a growling noise while driving i am not sure but i think it is either the rearend or maybe it is just the tires, does any one know about any problems with the rearend?

Message: everytime i have had this problem my tires were chopped. do you rotate your tires regularly? are they in good shape?

Message: I had a growling noise in my 2001 QC and it turned out to be a blown pinion bearing in the rear end. Cost me about $400 to fix it. If that is what's wrong with it, if you lift the whole rear end off the ground and put it in gear, you will still hear the growling.
