Message: sounds like balljoints to me, but could also be a bad bushing. i would take it to a mechanic and have them check the balljoints and see what shape they are in. you can look at the bushings yourself and visually see if they are in decent shape.

Message: I have a 2000 Dakota Sport 3.9L, I to have a popping noise from the front mostly when you turn to the left. It is somewhat intermittent, but I had (Under an Extended Warranty) the upper and lower control arms replaced and inter and outer tie rods replaced and it still makes the popping noise. I would be interested to find out if anyone else has found a solution to this problem.
Thanks

Message: Is the popping noise from the dash or underneath? I had my 04 fixed last week due to loose bolts at the inner fender well where it meets the cowl. Drove me nuts, all better now

Message: I have recently taken my 2000 Dakota Sport back to the dealer and they put my truck up on the rack and tightened every bolt they could reach in the front end including the frame. Apperently they got the right one because it has not popped since. They think that one of the bolts in the frame was loose and caused the noise when I was turning.
