Subject: 2004 Dakota Engine Miss Problem Fixed IP: Logged
Message: Hallelujah!!! There is joy in Mudville. On 4 Jan I picked up my 2004 3.7L, Quad Cab Dakota (AUTO) from the dealer after getting the 45-55 mph Engine Miss problem resolved. They reflashed the Powertrain Control Module to eliminate the miss. No Technical Service Bulletin has assigned yet, but the fix was approved Oct 04. After the Service Manager kept bugging the DaimlerChrysler Technical Service Rep. on a every other day basis, he finally was provided with a way to download the "flash". It works just like a TSB. A number is typed into the computer which then queries the vehicle computer to identifier the torque controller number. After that the flash is then downloaded and installed.
KEEP BUGGING YOUR DEALER, AS THERE NOW IS A FIX.

Message: 3.7 2004. The miss only happens every once in awhile in my truck. Is this the way it was in your trucks. The dealer seems to think i am full of it, when i say somthing to them about it.
