Just wanted to let everyone know that if you have a little bit over 100,000 on your dakota you may still get the ball joints replaced if you go to your local Dodge dealer and have them call their rep. Mine has 111,000 miles and they approved the replacement pending inspection of the balljoints.

Just received a letter from DC yesterday re: upper ball joint extended warrranty. The upper ball joint's warranty has been extended to 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage applies to all 2000 - 2003 Durango and Dakota 4X2's built thru Dec 31, 2002.

I am sure Canadian Daks have a similar, if not identical, recall. Call DC at the number in your owner's manual and give them the VIN number, they should be able to fill you in on the details.
