Subject: 99 Ball Joints...??? IP: Logged
Message: When I bought my truck just over 2 years ago they replaced the upper and lower ball joints as well as the upper control arm.
My lower ball joints have already failed again...and I don't think I can get coverage by this recall!? What'd I do, its obviously a seriously problem if it had the problem at like 30k miles and now again at like 50k...

Message: Paul, you're going to have to switch to a higher quality ball joint. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the MOOG style and you can get both for about $90. The dealership to date hasn't had another substitute except the stock faulty joints for replacement. You can order the parts while their still available from rockauto.com and take them to your shop of choice for installation but labor may run you more than you want to pay if you dont have the time to do it yourself.
