I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota with only 54,000 miles on it and the only problems that I have had was replacing the battery about 3 months ago until today.

Now I have no Head lights. The Bulbs are not blown the just will not come on.

I have tail lights, running lights, turn signels, and all; but no Head lights.

I pulled the owners manual out to see where the breaker for the head lights where located and it didn't show any in the book just said where the main power box was located. I looked there and there was no breaker for the head lights listed there as well. I even went as far as looking in the main breaker box just inside the door and there is nothing listed for the head lights there, but all of my other lights are listed even a place for a flasher for the head lights.

I was just thinking that it could be the switch for the head lights but those usily don't go out until the trucks are around 10 to 15 years old or older.

Does anyone out there know what the problem could be ????

One = this is NOT a dealer recall !!
therefore a ' post ' under your engine type
would get you more HELP...

Hint - Check your fuses - there is one for headlights somewhere...

I have found the problem with my head lights and have fixed it already.

The problem was not a fuse or breaker, it wasn't even the bulbs or switch. The problem with my head lights was coming from my dimmer switch in the colume. I went out to my truck and troubled shot it my self the following day. I am a former GM Tech so I used the trouble shoting that we use to use on GM Trucks and cars and what a lot of old school techs use on the street rods from the 60's.

It took me about 10 minutes and I had the problem found and fixed WITH OUT going to the dealer for help or a book.

So if anyone else OUT THERE runs into the problem of NO HEAD LIGHTS just check your dimmer switch, work it back and forth with the lights turned on and that should get them to work again. This was also a common problem with the 1985 GM trucks and ended up with the dealerships replacing the dimmer switchs.

You see Car and Truck companys trade info but not info on troubled items this goes back to the Camero and mustange. Mustang was first built but chevy and the Camero by for neather one could get them to work and that ended up with just one Chevy Mustang and one ford camero built. For gat the Mustang problems fixed and turned it out in 1964 but after the trade it took Chevy until 1967 (10 years after the trade) to get the problem fixed good enough to turn the Camero out. The first Ford Camero and Chevy Mustang was built in Late 1957 and both were ugly cars.

Sorry about the history class guys.

No Head Lights Check your dimmer switchs, and Bulbs. These Trucks do not have fuses or breakers for the head lights built in 1999.

so what you are saying is that Lee Iacocca did not get together with a few friends one night at the Fairlane Hotel bar and design a sporty car based on the Ford Fairlane to boost what was then a sagging sales for the Ford Motor Company. Right?
If you were right you might have spelled it CAMARO not Camero
