Message: I had put on those vent visors and was hearing a whistle so i took them off breaking them in the jprocess. THe whistle was still there. Do you guys have the large power/heated mirrors??? I do and think that is where the whistle is coming from.

Message: I have the power heated mirrors(03). I also get a whistle, not really that annoying to me. I always suspected it is from the air going through the seam where the mirror pivots. I might run some tape over it just to test the theory. If it works what would be a practical solution?

Message: This is my second Dakota now and I had that on my 99. From what i could gather it MAY be comming from your antenna, some are not coated and the non coated seems to make a wistle.
Good luck

Message: I went to the Dealer and they said that there was a fix for the intermittant whistle but it was not a recall.
They said it was from the heating duct, and they could install a couple parts to stop it. They did that and the whistle still happens. I have noticed that on my truck it occurs with driving at appx 1800 to 2100 rpm.
This makes me think that it is a vacuum leak.
