Ok well i post about my steering and then i get another problem as well. i started my truck up this morning and my guages where moving all around rpm was cutting off then on. the speedodometer was moving up and down while i was driving, and just all kind of strange things. the only thing that was different besides those guages was that the security and the air bag lights keep coming on. the truck is a 97 4X4 v8 ext. cab. thankyou again for your help.

POST UNDER YOUR ENGINE SIZE FOR FASTER HELP..
Problem is probably a loose " ground " connection
under or behind dash..
Need to check and tighten up all screws holding
wires to metal....

I had same thing when my battery went bad,
It has to do with truck loosing the ground.
check battery cables for clean and tight connections at both ends.

Had this problem off and on. Now the whole pannel has gone dark. But the gages w/ the exception of the gas gauge work.
I'll look behind and check ground wires.
I used to give a thump on the dash above the instruments and the lights would come back on.

Hopefully its just a loose ground wire and not a sodered connection.

Any one know a supply for a wiring harnes? I have a short or ground somewhere that keeps blowing my AC motor fuse out. 40Amp
