I have a 2001 SLT 3.9 V6 and under the hood it says "Chrysler Approved Moddification: Flashed 975" What dose this mean, what did they do?

The PCM was "flashed" - the term used for upgrading firmware stored in nonvolatile memory - with new software to correct the horrendous preignition problem our engines have. This was accomplished by retarding the total timing on acceleration. I have an 01 SLT V6.
