Subject: a/c IP: Logged
Message: i have a 2002 dakota v6 5 speed and recently i had my a/c on low and it cut off when i kicked it up a notch. now anytime i turn my a/c or heater on the only way it comes on is when i turn it on high. checked relays and fuses fine checked a couple other things and stuck any ideas. dealer wants 85 dollars to look at and 100 to fix. any suggestions would help thanks

Message: sounds like the resistors in the fan switch.If it blows cold on high,but doesn't blow at all on some speeds then the system is probably still o.k..The resistor pack usually is bolted into the condenser box up under the glove compartment.Change those resistors& should work.Mine's at the dealer right now b/c a wire shorted from the pcm to the rad fan relay.My a/c went on the fritz ever since,and the guy @ chrysler said the pcm's(unlike the rest of the vehicle)have an 8 year/80,000 mile warranty-FYI
