The dipstick on my 2000 4.7L does not appear to read correctly. It was made about 2/00. I called Dodge and they verbally told me this was correct and there was a TSB. Has anyone seen this TSB? The problem is when I put in the six quarts w/filter it shows about one quart high. This seems to indicate the stick is about .75 inch too long. I assume this would have been a short lived problem and would only apply to limited number of trucks. The dealer was of no help.

First I've heard of this one. I never really noticed because I put 1/2 quart in the filter and the other 5 1/2 in the engine and figure everythings okay. I'll have to pay attention next time. Thanks for the info.

I've got the same problem with the dipstick on my '00 4.7L. I have been putting in a quart less. Are you still putting in 6 quarts?
