Message: I recently had my right headlight go out on me on my 2003 SXT 3.9. Obviously i tried replacing the bulb, but the new bulb didn't work either. As it turns out the old bulb is fine, the high beam still works on it, and according to the dealer, its a faulty control unit for the headlight. I took it in last week, and it took them 4 hours to figure out what was wrong with it. Kirksville, MO Chrysler dealership can choke as far as I'm concerned. I took the truck in this morning after they got the part in, came back 5 hours later to pick it up, and they hadn't even touched my truck yet. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what part this is, so i can go to a different dealership and have them fix it, or else get the part myself and put it in. Thanks.

Message: Take screws out of the front cover on dash. take the metal piece out and on it you will find thew switch for the headlights it is pretty easy to figure out I can do mine in a 1/2 hour or less. I bought a new switch to find out therwe was nothing wrong with the old one that I replaced a year ago it started smoking and melted the connector where the wires connect to the switch.

Message: Well, when i said control unit, i didn't mean the switch. It was actually the thing that controls how the headlights stay on for 60 seconds after you turn the truck off, and other security features if you have them. But its all fixed up now and my lights are working fine. Thanks for the suggestions though.
