Im gonna definitely take a look at this, thanks... This sucks to keep hearing about this, I have been reading and researching for the last week on here and been gettin much info on my new 02 Dakota R/T, I've only had this thing for almost 2 weeks now and have been experiencing the ball joint deal and also trying to find out where the hell the speed sensor is located at...Havent gotten a repair manual yet...Had a hernia repair last monday and havent gotten out to much lately, one question...How do you register, when I click to register this password thing pops up and I cant get passed that...

Has anyone heard anything more on this? Are they going to get a recall started or anything? I just bought my 2000 with 28,000 miles on it in the beginning of January. It was out of warranty so I bought an extended warranty through Chrysler, but they like to argue too much with me about checking things out. I would like to find out about this before something really bad happens to myself or my fiance while we are driving the truck.

Jeep has a recall underway currently to replace upper ball joints that are rusted. Looks like Chrysler has crappy ball joints everywhere.

I own a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, and have been in regular contact with NHTSA on this issue. The lead investigator on the ball joint investigation is 'peter.kivett@nhtsa.dot.gov'& the investigation is Engineering Analysis EA03-023. Send him an email and help us all get this issue resolved once and for all!

I have a 97 dakota. Back in 1999 I had to replace my upper and lower ball joints for $700.00.They made them non greaseable so you have no choice but to replace!!BULL$%&#!!!!!!

My Husband was in a car accident yesterday but is not hurt! Thank God!! He was driving and one of his front wheels came off and of course his brakes failed and he skidded into a concrete wall in the middle of a very busy highway. Anybody out there that have had accidents? Could have been worse! Can you beleive thatnobody stopped to help him?

Sounds like we are getting much closer to losing someone's life because of these stupid ball joints. I'll NEVER buy another Chrysler product. I love my Dakota, but this is getting to be too much. The more I learn about this truck, the less I trust it. Seems like they are death traps to me...
