Subject: hard starting and rpm drop while driving IP: Logged
Message: I just bought a 2000 dakota v6 with 28000 miles on it . Have had it for 6 days all of a sudden having hard time turning over on first turn of the key. Sometimes have to wait 5-10 min to try again. This morning I was driving at about 40mph and the rpm's just dropped to zero. engine light came on, all other power stayed on. Any one experience this? Is this the "stalling" that everyone is talking about?

Message: Are you get the check engine light and a "no bus" in the odometer?? If so it is the PCM going out. It took mine to the dealer Friday the have it check and they said that that is what is causing it. It is still covered inder wanranty for 8 year/80,000 mile. They called me back today and I am going to take it to them tomorrow to change it out for me. FREE! that is the best part. I sure am glad is was covered. Don't let them try to tell you that it is not the PCM if you get the "no bus"
