Subject: Constant injector misfire and killing O2 IP: Logged
Message: Hi. I have a 00 slt with the 4.7 To make a long story short...i hit some deer at 23000 miles. They supposedly fixed the truck. Since then (now at 26000) i have sunk about 1500 into the truck trying to make it run right... it keeps killing the dr side front O2 sensor. Throws codes for inj. misfire (all cylinders at one time or another). Had the rails cleaned, 4 O 2 sensors, plugs, all aplicable sensors checked (according to the dealer). I am ready to cry...I loved the truck prior, and couldnt even try to get rid of it now if i wanted. I clear the code..one comes back within a week. Blows black crap out of the pipe, smells horrible...no power...WTF? IF you can help me at all, PLEASE EMAIL ME. If I ever can repay the favor...I will. This truck is killing me...
thanks
garrett

Message: Sounds like there is possibly a short circuit in the computer. Have the dealer or a mechanic YOU can trust check it out. I have seen it before on caravans.IF it is the computer, there is a warranty of 8 years/80000 miles.

Message: Sounds like a tough one garret. How bad was the impact? It may also seem like it should be covered under insurance for the repair. I would take it back and have them fix it under the claim. It is obvious the problem stemmed from your accident. You also mentioned oil in your O2 harness. ?? This is the first time i have heard your problem. Sounds serious. Good luck and let us know the results.
Ken
