 Subject: 01 Dakota front axle

I slid into a ditch about a foot deep so that the passenger side tires were in the ditch and driver side were still on the road. The center of the front axle made contact with the crown of the ditch. Now your going to say that I hit hard but I didn't, I didn't know I had problems until I tried 4 wheel. The axle broke off at all 3 attach points and was only connected by the cv joints. What do you guys think?

I think you just rediscovered the biggest weakness with IFS 4x4. I take it you don't have skid plates. It doesn't matter what you drive, if you high center on the front axle of an IFS truck you're almost gauranteed to break some very expensive parts.
Time to take it to a very good welder or hit Car-Part.com
