Message: I set up an appointment to get my '03 Dakota serviced last week. They set me up for 8:45 AM today. I bring it in today at 7:30 AM and drop it off. I get a call at 4:30 PM asking if they can keep the truck "a few more days" as they were unable to get to it today. They service rep seemed to be surprised when I said "NO!" A couple of days to check out a few warranty items and change the oil. Seems rather excessive.

Message: Yeah I hate that. They shouldn't take appointments if they can't get to it. I wish they could put your name on the list and call you 15 mins before they could look at it so we could bring it in.

Message: Maybe they don't understand that my Dak is my day-to-day drive. I guess if you only drive the truck on weekends, "a few more days" would be just fine. In my case, I have to totally rearrange my schedule just to drop off/pick up the truck. That attitude was what really ticked me off. They seemed to really be upset I would not leave it there for a few days. Some of us use the truck to work while others "only" use it to GET to work.

Message: tell them "sure if you give me a free Dak just like I have to drive in the mean time" wakes them up every time. Esp. if you call the service manager and explain it to them with a follow up letter to the dealer himself as to why you will be going else where for service once the warrenty is up.
