Subject: RPM Problem IP: Logged
Message: While driving the other day on the interstate my RPMs jumped really quick to over 4000. It did that another 2 or 3 times in a half hours time each time for no more then a couple seconds. I brought it to a mechanic and he said the diagnostic test didn't give a clear reason. He did say it might have something to do with the throttle, but he didn't want to rip into my engine without knowing for sure.
Another person I emailed about this thought it sounded like I had a problem with my idle control motor.
Has anyone out there had similar problems?
Any info you can give me would be very appreciated.....
Thank You

Message: I just started having a similar problem yesterday. I have a '03 4.7 litre with a manual transmission. If I am around 1800-1900 rpms when I take my foot of the gas and step on the clutch it actually goes up to about 2500 rpms ad stays there. If I tap the gas pedal it will go back down.
Any Ideas?
