I have a 2000 dakota cc 4x4 the thermostat was replaced,the clutch fan replaced rad. was flushed rad shop dip the tank also and I'm still overheating around 240 the guage reads. The coolant was tested for hydro carbons The rad cap been replacrd and the belt was replaced the water pump was checked and all is good. sending unit they said was ok It runs hot when going up hills and on highway driving . Doesn't run hot at idle can any one help me

Are you losing any coolant? Did you have a pressure test? Do you have a tranny cooler? If so, how about your tranny and what about it's fluid and level. How about the crank oil and rear end fluid levels. Has your gas mileage dropped? Are you sure that the new thermostat is opening? And, with that running temperature is your electric fan coming on?

No coolant loose, Pressure test was good, No Tranny cooler fluid was changed in Tranny and engine 5w-30 castrol gas milage the same as it was,yes thermo working ok opens at 195 yes fan is working correctly

Anything blocking the front of the rad preventing air flow. Where do you live? It's been like really really hot lately. Good luck and keep us posted as to what the out come is.

I fixed the problem It was a cloged rad. Dealer said they flushed it then they said they sent it out to a rad shop to be tested. Said it was all ok Well i replaced it and it runs normal now. I took the rad apart and found half of the tube were blocked. Never takeing my truck to Youngs Dodge again PS I did get a refund for the work they did
