Message: I found a solution to the problem with my 03 Dakota with the 3.9, TRADE IT IN. I took mine back to the dealer a couple of weeks after I bought it and raised so much heck they were glad to put me in an 04 Dakota Quad Cab with a 3.7L V6 which is very smooth, strong and seems to be a great engine. 22K miles and not a single problem. In the 2 or 3 weeks I owned the 03 with the 3.9 the dealer had it more than me. They never did figure it out.

Message: Try replacing the throttle position sensor ( TPS ) and cleaning the contacts in the connector. Just cleaning the TPS electrical connector contacts seems to have cured my idle, tranny and stalling problems on my '00 4.7
Hope you have the same luck!

Message: Oxygen sensors is what is wrong with most of the problems in
this post and the poping from your intake is a vacuumed leak
combined with 02 sensor. If u don't replace oxygen senser( or
any sensor a dealer MOPAR part u will have these problem
with no codes . Dodge is really sensitive with aftermarket
electrical sensors
