I need to know if anyone else has experienced a chatter problem with the torque converter on the 5.9 auto 4x4's. When mine locks in 4th around 40mph to 70mph, and I apply a little gas, instead of unlocking and going, the torque converter actually seems like it is trying to unlock/lock and chatters. I can feel and hear it in the truck but it is progressively getting better as I get miles on the truck. Probably because the tranny is about to go out!! When I am in nuetral and gas the engine, the truck actually moves forward!!!!! I had the same problem on my 88 ramcharger and the moving in nuetral thing went away after I had the 727 tranny overhauled. I have been to the dealer twice and they are telling me it is a "torque management" programing in the computer and an update should be out in April. Well, I think it is something else and wanted to know if any of you have had any better luck.

2000 QC 4x4 5.9 Black, no mods.....yet!!

I've got a '00 QC SLT+ 5.9L 4x4 and do not
experience this problem. Hopefully you are
still under warranty and can get this looked
at. Did that computer update ever come out?
I've got the 3.92 gears, so it's a whole other
ball game in 4th gear.

Koz, I don't know if the reprogram ever came out. The dealer was supposed to call me but never did....go figure. I am basically driving the hell out of to make it fail and if it does, it will be fixed under warranty. I am trying to find a good dealer hear in Dallas with a quality team that knows what the heck they are doing.

About the 3.92 gears, there is not that much difference.....I think. I have had an R/T and now the QC and yes the R/T was moderately faster, but I attribute that to being 700lbs lighter. I can still roast the tires in this truck and it is about to get better, or worse, when I get the K&N Gen 2, the 1.7 rockers and a TB. This thing is going to be mean as hell.
