 Subject: 03 Quad Cab Locks

I have a new 03 quad cab and I love the fact that the doors all lock when you hit 15mph. I hate the fact that all the doors DON'T unlock when you shut the truck off. Is there anyway to change this computer setting without disabling the auto locking all together?

My bad,(misread your post) you can keep the doors from locking themselves after 15mph but I dont think you can program them to unlock when you shut it off.

I did! It only showed how to disable the autolocking all together, I only want to change the unlocking when you turn off the motor!

Yes, Our chevy venture van does the same thing but when you shut off, all the doors unlock!

My 2002 QC works just as you wish your 2003 door locks would work. Maybe DC changed the way the locks operate between these years.
I also have a dealer installed 3rd party alarm system (that integrates into the factory keyless entry system) which might be what is unlocking my doors at shut-off. I can't find the literature for the alarm to verify or disprove this.
Besides, the front doors open from the inside even if they are locked. Has this changed? I am not sure of the rear doors, as I have never ridden there. (I've only ridden in the front passenger seat once, never made it to the back...)

I also have the aftermarket alarm installed in my 03 Quad cab. The locks will lock within a few seconds of turning on the engine, and unlock upon killing the engine. I know that there are settings in the manual and there are also settings in the aftermarket dealership-installed alarm. Check online sites or consult your manual.
