Subject: strange clicking noise behind the cab IP: Logged
Message: not all the time but occansionally when i accelerate in low speed situations i get a clicking noise behind the cab. if anyone has any suggestions as to what it is i'd like to hear them.

Message: I'll give it a shot...couple years back I had a "chirping" noise that made noises same time you indicate you hear your clicking. Took it in to the dealership a few times....finally had to take them out on the road myself before they heard the noise (seemed more prevalent in the winter/dry season). Anyway...they lubed the driveline and that seemed to solve the problem. Hope that helps. Sure as heck bugged the hell out of me 'til it got fixed.

Message: 2001 QC 4x4 - Same problem with clicking behind cab. Located the heat shield above the muffler runs between the box and the rear of the cab. Securred at both ends with plastic plugs. When the vehicle moves it flexes and causes the tin shield to bend and it "clicks". Drill out the plugs and put in metal screws. It solved my problem.
