I had the idle stumble problem with my 2001 4.7L 4x4. Took it in to the dealer for a radiator hole, they reprogramed my computer with the update and my idle problem is completely gone! Now my Dak idles smoothe at 600rpm constant! Love it. Thanks to Dan at Hartzeim Dodge in San Jose, CA.

Seems the idle stumble on my '02 QC is a bit more elusive. I've had it in four times at two different dealers to no avail. Flashed PCM - no change. Dealer insists that a stumbling idle in the 400-500 rpm range is normal for the 4.7. Changed the plugs to Autolite 5224's yesterday .... still shudders and stumbles. I've heard a rotten battery could cause this prob too. Might try that next. I've searched all the archives and it seems like everyone has a different take or solution on this idle problem. Any new ideas? Thanks in advance. Much appreciated. Kyle - do you happen to know what the p/n for the flash they used on your truck was -- they should have put a sticker in the engine compartment somewhere (maybe on the underside of the hood). Thanks.

Cleaned throttle body and IAT solenoid. Still got idle stumble. Dodge corporate and dealerships have been no help. Oh well -- guess I'll have to live with my $30,000 truck that idles worse than my old '84 Dodge 600 that I bought for $200 and never maintained at all the five years I owned it. Maybe I'll trade my truck in on one of those? :o( Any more ideas?

I had that problem on my 318 during hot weather. My solution? Unplug the fast idle servo. It's not a permanent fix but it's cheap and also cured a surging problem on the highway.

I think i fixed the problem in mine it was with the air intake.
I was building an air intake from parts i got from galles filters. I thought if i cant fix the stumble problem (the tps setting didnt help) i will atleast make it have power where it will make up for it.
To my surprise no more stumble .
The problem appeared to be warm air.
I did make a kit if anyone is interested
BTW it hasnt got fitted properly since i tryed diff filters and choped up my fender (it looks like a 5 inch diameter by 5 inch length k&n would work with out any cutting of the fender)

If interested email me at Imbacknotinblack@hotmail.com
i will only accept a couple of people since it still needs to be finalized. It will be at material and shipping costs only
I found it fixes other vehicles to but i only do those localy since i only own a dakota (2002 quad 3.9 v6)
Another thing if u have cruise control and ac it will fit
