Subject: Vibration Shimmy 1999 4x4 Auto Trans

Message:
My 1999 Dak with 39,000mi. has a slight shimmy at 35-40 mph then goes away above that speed. Its coming from front end. If I pop it in neutral (Auto trans) it still vibrates, also in 4x4H.
It feels like a bouncy type vibe, like an out of round tire, but they have been rotated and rebalanced no luck. I replaced the upper ball joints with Moogs but lowers are original. Ties rods feel tight, no slop in steering. Any ideas?

At that speed it is more than likely the wheel bearings, the tires being out of balance would be felt a higher speeds 55-70mph wheel bearings act up around 30-45mph

if you have bottomed out recently check for any small dents in your drive shaft. had a 1" long 1/4" deep dent in mine and it shook at 53mph.
