03 Dakotas are being recalled for a software update for the transmission. Mine just went in because the trans. would not shift to overdrive.

I have a 2003 Dakota SXT and I understand the problem was with the torque converter, which I received a recall on. I scheduled an appointment for the repair and the dealer called me back and said the part was on "national backorder." I kept driving my truck and the transmission overheated. My tranny went out at 3200 miles and a new one was installed. I had no overdrive or reverse.
