Have an appt. with dealer to have the cat looked at and possibly replaced on my 97 cc with 5.2, anyone have an idea as to how long it usually takes to get it done? they said it could be over a week if they have to order a new cat for it? just curious as i just got the truck and haven't dealt w/dealers for years...thanx

Mine had a loud rattle, took to dealer they determined cat was bad they called in four days with new cat, brought truck back in, was installed and ready to p/u in half day.

I had to get mine replaced to. Took 10min for check (it was rattling), then few days later half day for the job. No fuss, no cost. 99 CC V6 Dak sport+

I heard mine rattle i told service guy it was cat he ordered one ,they called when they got it ,I brought it in 2 hours later it was on. 3 months later it was bad again 3 days after that I beat the innards out of it :no cat probs since.
dont sound too bad either. Factory cats are junk ,i'm sure many will agree.

I live in Wisconsin so no emmision tests,hollow cats may be problems in smog states
