Subject: 2002 washer pump motors are bad!! IP: Logged
Message: The other night when I left work I went to clean the windshield and the juice wouldn't work, I thought it maybe frozen up, or empty, but I went home and checked it out and it was full and not frozen, When I left today it worked pulling out of the garage, but stopped again going down the road. So I went to my dealership, the service department was closed, but I snagged a salesman and they said they knew about the problem, on 2002's, why didn't I get a letter or something? Anyway they said the motor and tank are both bad, and that the new parts are on a 4,000 part nation wide back order, my truck only has 9600 miles on it and crap is already breaking on it, Anybody have the same problems? If you don't, chances are you could or will by what the dealer said. Hope this gets fixed soon,
later,
Andrew

Message: you do know that this is part of the saftey ,you can get fined if its not operational.
in the event of an accident , your royally screwed ,if the investigation feels that your dirty windshield may have played a part
jury rig an inline pump to the existing line ,use spade connectors and wire to join into the existing wiring ,u dont have to cut any wires to get this to work. and submitt the bill to dodge.

Message: i hear ya,and would be cheesed of at dodge as well.
the only point im trying to make, and im not picking on you at all, is
people with no windshield washer pump operation may take their vehicles out on the road, knowing its defective.
the problem is dodge's to repair, i agree ,but at the end of the day the liability is all ours. and alot of people dont understand that part of the equation.
sure hope they remedy the problem as quickly as possiable.

Message: Andrew: 9600 and stuff is breaking? Get this, my 2002 R/T was in the shop 4 times in the first 2500 miles.
800 miles: A/C condensate leaking into the floor.
1200 miles: anti-theft went bad, wouldn't start.
1800 miles: A/C went completely out.
2500 miles: A/C out for second time.
Im now at 5,000 and nothing has went out lately, but Im always expecting something. Just to show you how Dodge "stands behind their product", when I complained to the service manager, his reply was "we have vehicles in 5 or 6 times for repairs the first 2500 miles, we have to get the bugs worked out at first then they run fine". I dont know about you bt when I pay 20 grand for a reg. cab truck I expect everythig to work immediately.

Message: Where I work PDI pays .7 hrs. @ $82.5/hrs. give or take a few tenths depending on the vehicle....and even if done right IT WILL NOT catch a leaking condensation drip tube....the VSS was/is usually an interal grounding problem in the VSS module ( this is pee poor jobber work) and the A/C....well who knows....maybe not diag. right on the first time and call that pee poor jobber work in the first place, never should have been sent out to the build plant.....Do you guys really think the other manufactures are any better....been there done that....and don't even start the crap about imports!

Message: The problem with the washer pump motors on 2002 dakota R/T has hit Canada where I live. My 2002 R/T has 12000km on it. I have had to replace the pump has well. My R/T has been in to Dodge about 4 times already. And it is going in again because the transmission is giving weird sounds while in R & N but not in drive. When engine is cold high squeeling comes from pulleys, had fan belt replaced with only 1000km on it, didnt solve
the problem. Also window regulator went tooo. WHAT NEXT!!!!!

Message: Thank you Thank you Andrew!!!! I have been trying to figure out if I was the only one having this problem!!! My truck is a 4X4 dakota 2003, got it in July...First my fog lights would not work...I was told it would have to come in for diagnostic testing..(yeah right), I lifted the hood, checked out the relay box...AHHH, DUH...there was not one there for my fog lights! So I told them here is my diagnostic answer, now write this part number on a WRO...cause I am not paying for it. And away I went.
