I own a 94 DAK SLT extended cab 4x4 318 fi(110,000 mi) auto trans/od. the tranny whines when in gear but goes quiet in neutral or park, the original tranny was replaced at 75,000 after the od tailstock came apart in route to the dealer for a diffent fix, i was told that this is normal but i think it is BS

I have a 2000 Dakota Slt with the 45rfe and 4.7l. I does something similar in that the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts whine after taht she's quiet This is my first Dodge pick-up and am not really familiar with them. Also told by dealer to run ATF-3. What is this noise

i have an 00 4.7L CC 4x4, (45rfe auto) and it whines. it only whines when under tq converter lockup, and at a steady speed. if you let off or slightly apply the gas, its gone. its not loud or anything, i can only hear it with the radio down....... i have never owned a 4x4, maybe its just a normal X-fer case sound.....
