I have a 2000 Dakota 4x4 and was wondering how do you program the keyless entry remote? I have one that works and just bought one from ebay, but didnt come with directions for programming.
Thanks for the help....

GET READY THIS HAS 12 STEPS
NOTE: WHEN ENTERING PROGRAM MODE USING FOB, ALL OTHER PROGRAMMED FOBS WILL BE ERASED AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REPROGRAM THEM FOR YOUR VEHICLE
1. ENTER YOUR TRUCK AND CLOSE ALL DOORS
2. PUT ON YOUR SEAT BELT SO THE SEAT BELT BUZZER DOES'T CONFUSE YOU WITH THE CHIMING YOU WANT TO HEAR
3. PLACE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION
4. TURN THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION BUT DO NOT START
5. PRESS AND HOLD THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB
6. HOLD THE UNLOCK BUTTON FOR 4 SEC. NOW ALSO HOLD THE PANIC BUTTON
7. RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS AND A SINGLE CHIME WILL BE HEARD THIS INDICATION THAT YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ENTERED PROGRAM MODE. ALL FOBS THAT ARE TO BE PROGRAMMED MUST BE DONE SO WITHIN 30 SEC. OF WHEN THE CHIME WAS HEARD.
8. USING THE FOB TO BE PROGRAMMED PRESS AND RELEASE BOTH THE LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS, SIMULTANEOUSLY.
9. A SINGLE CHIME WILL BE HEARD
10. WITHIN FOUR SECONDS OF HEARING THE CHIME PRESS AND RELEASE EITHER THE LOCK OR UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE FOB.
11. REPEAT STEPS 8 - 10 TO PROGRAM UP TO TWO ADDITIONAL FOBS.
12. YOUR TRUCK WILL REMAIN IN PROGRAM MODE UP TO 30 SEC FROM WHEN THE ORIGINAL CHIME WAS HEARD. AFTER 30 SEC. ALL PROGRAMMED FOBS FUNCTION NORMALLY.

or do this one that has two steps and does not overprogram your other remote.
1. press lock button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resync transmitter. attempt to function transmitter. if working as designed then discontinue programing.
2.turn on ignition, allow chime to stop.
3. using original transmitter, press and hold the unlock button on the transmitter for between 4 to 10 seconds.
4. continue to hold the unlock button and press the panic button. a chime will sound to indicate that the teansmitter programming mode has been entered. (allow 3 seconds for chime to sound).
5. press a button on all transmitters to be programmed into the system including any previously programmed transmitters: a chime will sound when each transmitter has veen programmed.
6. turn off the ignition to exit the programming mode.
this is directly from the dealer.
i have a 2000 dakota qc 4.7 w/ keyless entry and panic.

SORRY I GOT MY INFORMATION FROM MY 2002 OWNER'S MANUAL. HOW ABOUT PROGRAMING IT SO THE HORN DOESN'T BLOW EVERY TIME YOU HIT THE LOCK BUTTON. I KNOW IT WAS A PAIN THE WAY THE OWNER'S MANUAL HAS YOU DO IT.

A FOB IS THE LITTLE BLACK THING HANGING FROM YOUR KEY RING WITH THE BUTTONS YOU PUSH TO LOCK AND UNLOCK YOUR TRUCK. CAN'T HELP YOU WITH THE ALARM.

Been wondering the same thing Paul! Also without telling me they were doing so the dealer turned off my horn beep and I want it turned back on. He said he would do it for a price, but he undid it for free and I want it back! Know how??

hey jim the awnser to your question
is probally not. you need to know
what the part# is for your voyager
if you have a current key fob for
it then look on the back and there should
be a part # If you don't have the fob
then call a dealership and act like
you want to purchase one and ask for
the part# see if the # for the van matches
the dakota's if they do great your set
if not no go. and yes i work for a dealership
and its a hell of alot easier with a scan tool
than the twelve step program.

I have a 99 Chrysler Cirrus that came with two keyless remotes. They both work. I have purchased an extra remote, same part number, from an individual and would like to program it. Can anyone help with instructions on how to do this? Thanx!
