Subject: Doors Unlocking Themselves

Message:
Just recently I started having a problem with the doors on my 2002 Dakota Quad Cab SLT unlocking on their own, whether or not the keys are in the ignition. Sometimes I can lock the vehicle and stand outside and it just keeps unlocking itself over and over. Now it even does it while I'm driving. I removed the batteries from the key FOB, but no luck, so its obviously not a faulty FOB. Needless to say, this is a serious security concern and I am taking it to the dealer to have it checked out. But I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same problem, and if they found out what was causing it. Also, does anyone know which fuse disables the door locks, just in case this happens again? Many Thanks.

sounds like a weak or faulty door lock/unlock relay.

I think there is a T.s.B for this. T.S.B number 08-041-00. and it was issued Jan of o1. But this is for a 200 Dakota , but I would still go to the dealer and let him know about it , it should be fixed for free.
