just have to put a little positive in the forum. i have a '00 dak quad, 4x4, slt, 4.7. My first and very pleased with it so far. I'm a 10 year auto tech, and a 5 year aircraft tech. My dak is going into the shop for the warrentee inspection before it ends(34036 miles). I know that it needs lwr ball joints, and upper and lwr control arm bushins, (rattle and squeeks over bumps and potholes.) To me this is normal at this point in the milage ( i live in minnesota). But, just to be on the safe side i bought a 125k or 7year complete bumper to bumper warrentee. If anyone has any questions on vehicles, I'd do my best to help.

Driving to work this a.m., I was thinking about a post like this myself.
My 01 Quad, loaded, with the awesome 4.7, lighlty modod including the HO cams, and a 5spd manual, IS FREAKIN AWESOME!! I know there is faster, but this thing hauls a$$, has a great ride, etc.
I still live the look, ride, feel of this truck after 2 years and 31K! And I tried NOT to drive it that much!

have you had any problems with your oil pres. gauge? mine takes a few seconds to get a read and the check guage light comes on.

Matt, are you talking about a 4.7?
I've seen posts and people have had problems with oil pressure, engines seizing, etc.
NO problems with mine yet, son't think there will be either. mines an 01.

let me add to the prase of the dak mine truck is a 99 and have had it for almost 3 years the only problem I have had is the cattalac converter but thats a life warranty and did not cost a thing. I live in detroit pothole city and no bussing or balljoint problems. some people expect to much from there vihicle. keep in mine that a 2wd is not mwnt for off roading and something will brake.
