Message: It is *absolutely* critical that the lugs are torqued within the specified range.
That they all are torqued the same is just common sense.
The rotors are sandwhiched between hub and wheel. They don't bolt or screw to anything. So it is also important that all the mating surfaces of the hub, rotor and wheel be clean and dry.

Message: Very informative post. I have a 2004 Dakota and I have to replace the rotors. Do they just pull right off after taking off the calipers? What kind of wrench do I need to take the calipers off?

Message: not positive if its the same but my 01 had an allen screw holding them on and the rotors came off with little effort after 87000 miles
